The Rev. Karl Grant is a follower of Jesus Christ, husband to Christine, father to sons Rollie and Ryan, and a United Methodist pastor. An Ordained Elder in the North Carolina Conference, Karl was appointed as senior pastor of Queen Street in July 2017.Christine is a professional librarian (Master of Library Science from N.C. Central University) employed by the Neuse Regional Library System. Prior appointments for Karl and Christine include Cedar Grove UMC north of Hillsborough in Orange County (2010-2017), LaGrange UMC (2006-2010), and the Gray Rock/Bethel Charge (2002-2006). Karl has earned the following degrees: Associate in Arts from Lenoir Community College, Bachelor in Arts from East Carolina University, and Master of Divinity from The Divinity School, Duke University. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Ministry program at Hood Theological Seminary. Prior to entering pastoral ministry, Karl worked at the Kinston Free Press, the Daily Press and Time-Herald in Newport News, Va., Lenoir Community College, North Carolina’s Eastern Region economic development commission, and the Neuse Regional Library. Karl is passionate about preaching and teaching the Word of God and seeks to help others discern the God-given purpose for their lives. Having grown up in Lenoir County, Karl is excited to be serving as a pastor of his hometown.
